Honors Program Virtual Poster Session: Whiting

Title & Abstract

Orthopedic Medicine: Who’s Passing the Bone Saw?

Only 6% of Orthopedic surgeons are female. This is a problem because a lack of females causes stereotypes, and makes it difficult for people to climb the ladder in this field. Some causes of this lack of females is due to microaggressions directed toward women, lack of exposure to the field, and a lack of mentors.
