Computers, Printing & Copiers - For Students

Current Highline College, CWU-Des Moines, Heritage University, and Kaplan students are provided with a credit each quarter to use for printing and/or copying. Students must first activate their account in order to access these funds.

If a student has used up their credit for the quarter, they may add value to their account at the kiosks in Building 6 (First floor), the Library (Building 25, Plaza level), Building 29, and Building 30 prior to printing/copying. The kiosks only accept paper U.S. currency ($1, $5, $10, $20) and do not provide change.

If you have coins, or a $5 bill, we can usually make change at the Circulation desk in the Library. We cannot accept any bill larger than a $5, and we will only accept one $5 bill at a time.

Computers (Library, Building 25)

There are 74 computers available to all library patrons on a first-come, first-served basis in the library Information Commons. Highline College and Central Washington University students doing college related work have priority on using the computers. The computers have internet access and the Microsoft Office 2010 products Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Patrons may transfer documents to and from portable devices such as a USB memory drive.

There is no charge to use the computers, but there is a charge for printing or copying, see below.

Activate Computer Login/Password

Computer Usernames and Passwords are created after Highline College, CWU, and Kaplan International English students activate their myHighline account.

Note: If you have previously activated your myHighline, please log in with your old password and change your password, you do not need to reactivate.

Activation instructions for CWU and Kaplan students

Go to https://myinfo.highline.edu

  1. Choose "Activate CWU or Kaplan Account"
  1. Enter your Student Identification Number (SID), Zip Code (from your offical mailing address on file), and birth date, and click Next
  1. Enter and confirm your email address, and enter and confirm your new password, and click Activate. Please note that all passwords must comply with the Highline College Password Standard.
  1. You will see a confirmation page with your IC username displayed. A confirmation email will also be sent to you. You may now access IC resources using your account.

When using Highline’s computing resources, you are responsible for your online activity. Activating your myHighline account indicates compliance with Highline’s Computer Resources Appropriate Use Policy (AUP).

Printing

Copying

The 3 copy machines in the library provide two sizes of paper, 8.5" x 11" (letter) and 11" x 17" and allow for either single- or double-sided copying. Information regarding the cost of printing/copying is available in this document.

Use your myHighline Username and Password to log in to the copy machines.

For assistance with the copiers, please ask at the Circulation counter (2nd floor/Plaza level).

Scanning

The 3 copy machines in the library may also be used to scan book pages or documents. The scanned images are sent to the email address of your choice as a .pdf file.

There is no charge for scanning.
