Global Community Initiative 2021-22: Health and Well-being
This guide was developed to support Highline College's Global Community Initiative (GCI). During the 2021-22 academic year, the GCI is focusing on UN Sustainable Development Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Global non-profit organization "working to accelerate health equity so all people and communities can thrive. We advise and partner with public institutions, businesses, grassroots groups, and investors to solve the world’s most pressing health challenges."
Health Alliance International (HAI) focuses on "designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based improvements to public sector health care delivery systems around the globe." HAI works "side-by-side with ministries of health to strengthen the capacity of countries to lead their own, effective public sector health systems."
Based out of Seattle Children's Hospital, this organization aims to "make transformative scientific advances that lead to the prevention, treatment and cures of infectious diseases impacting children and families around the world."
Based out of the University of Washington, this organization "makes scientific discoveries, cultivate leaders, and bridges disciplines to advance the tightly connected health and well-being of WACh." Priority areas include family planning decision support, gut health and child survival, HIV and co-infections through the lifecycle
