What do you know about Native American culture and history?

  • They were here first and welcomed the pilgrims. All had a nice first Thanksgiving together.

  •  By the time Europeans arrived, Native Americans had evolved cultures that allowed them to make sense of their world. They were not at all “savages”- a label Europeans used to excuse poisoning them (see: small pox blankets, etc.) and stealing their land.
  • Native American’s early ancestors were Africans. Compare both culture’s totem poles.

  • The Trail of Tears is genocide and they still face great strife.
    • Absolutely incorrect! Native Americans have more privileges than most average Americans. Like government funded grants and scholarships just because of their skin color and history. If they ever blame their issues on others, it’s an excuse!!
      • You should read this one.
        • Indigenous people experience genocide but still stand strong…Not everything significant ONLY happened in the past… Standing Rock/Wounded Knee (70’s). We are still allowing Genocide!
