The Seattle Public Library is a premier institution in Washington State. It has an extensive collection of books, recorded books, videos, and electronic resources, as well as a large collection of databases which are free for you to use - if you have a SPL library card. Seattle Public Library also hosts fantastic performances and author readings (some of which are featured on their homepage) and an annual event called Seattle Reads, a model for similar programs all over the United States.
What if I don't live in Seattle?
If you attend or work at Highline Community College you have free access to the Seattle Public Library - even if you're an online student who lives far away. Click HERE for a list of communities outside Seattle that have access to free Seattle Public Library cards. From Olympia to Everett, SPL is there for you.
