Need help with Research? Have a general question about the library's resources or services? We're here to help!
There are a number of ways in which you can reach us:
Call a Reference librarian at (206) 592-3232 (on-campus extension 3232) during library hours.
Visit the Reference Desk, located on the Library Plaza Level (2nd Floor) during library hours.
Public borrowers will have to pay before they are able to print or make copies. Public borrowers must create a guest account and add value to that account at the kiosks in Building 6 (First floor) or the Library (Building 25, Plaza level) prior to printing. The kiosks only accept paper U.S. currency ($1, $5, $10, $20) and do not provide change.
If you have coins, or a $5 bill, we can usually make change at the Circulation desk in the Library. We cannot accept any bill larger than a $5, and we will only accept one $5 bill at a time.
There are several computers available to patrons on a first-come, first-served basis in the library Information Commons. Highline College and Central Washington University students doing college related work have priority on using the computers. The computers have internet access and the Microsoft Office 2010 products Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Patrons may transfer documents to and from portable devices such as a USB memory drive.
There is no charge to use the computers, but there is a charge for printing or copying, see below.
There are two Black & White printers and one Color printer available. The printers only offer 8.5" x 11" (letter) sized paper. Additional information regarding printing (including costs) is available from the Highline IT Helpdesk, see Student Printing (much of the information applies to Public Borrowers, also).
The copiers in the library provide two sizes of paper, 8.5" x 11" (letter) and 11" x 17" and allow for either single- or double-sided copying. Information regarding the cost of copying is available on the Student Printing page, see the paragraph 'Printing Costs'.
For instructions on how to logon to the copiers, please see the information at Copier Logon / Logoff Procedure, or ask at the Circulation counter (Plaza level).
The copy machines in the library can be used to scan book pages or documents. The scanned images are sent to the email address of your choice as a .pdf file.
There is no charge for scanning in the library.
Please see the Assistive Technologies page.
The following links are targeted primarily at students, but may answer some questions for public borrowers, also.
