Find It! Course Reserves

We are the Highline Community College Library.  Please stop by to ask a research question , use a computer, look at resources on the Internet, to check out a book or watch a video or DVD. We have lots of quiet places to study, as well.

Placing Materials on Course Reserve

Bring materials to be placed on reserve to the Circulation desk at the Library. We accept materials at any time during the academic year. Please submit all requests as soon as possible so that materials can be processed for your students' use during the upcoming quarter. Requests will be processed in the order in which they are received.

The contact person for Reserves is Gerie Ventura. If you have any questions regarding course reserves, email libcirc@highline.edu or call 206-878-3710, Extension 3234.

The Process

  1. A Reserve Request Form should be completed for each item.

  2. If all the reserve items are from the HCC Library Media Collection, you may email Library Circulation Services. Include the title(s), Course Name, and whether the reserve list is for the current quarter or for the entire academic year.

  3. Allow up to 3 workdays for processing of new reserve items. We will give you an estimated time that your items will be ready. You will receive email confirmation when the items are available for your students. We ask that you keep the processing time in mind when you inform students when the material(s) will be available for checkout.

Please Note

  • Students must present their student ID card to check out reserve items.
  • Between quarters, reserve materials are reviewed, and you will be contacted to inquire if any information or items needs to be updated.
  • Returned personal material can be picked up at the Circulation Desk or sent to your faculty mailbox.
  • The Circulation Services department reserves the right to return "indefinite" reserve items that have not been checked out for 1 year.
