Our Mission

The Highline Community College Library: great staff, great stuff, great service!

We work in partnership with the campus community to further the education mission of the college. It is our specific mission to contribute to the success of the educational process by working collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to develop information competency skills and to enhance their learning experience with timely and thoughtful research assistance and quality instructional support.

Our skilled courteous staff serve as the user's bridge to information which can be found either in-house or beyond the walls of the library. To make this the best library possible, our staff is dedicated to providing carefully selected, well-organized and accessible collections designed to support and enhance the educational process.

We are a public resource, and as such we make our materials available to the broader community. We assist our users in accessing remote resources; we share our distinct resources. We also maintain a collection of government documents selected to meet the needs of the college and assist with the needs and interests of the surrounding community.

"It is an honor and privilege to have been named the permanent president. We do important work at Highline Community College as we prepare students to live in a multicultural society and to work successfully in a competitive global economy. I will continue this work as I serve the college and community," said Bermingham. "I was overwhelmed by the support I received both on and off campus while interim president, and will strive to meet to the changing needs of our region."
